Device should be considered if: | ||||||
1a. Capacity Factors. There is a temporary reduction in capacity of through lanes due to either a reduction in the number of lanes, or a reduction in the width of lanes of traffic, causing a backup of traffic during peak periods. OR 1b. Geometric Factors. There is a temporary change in the geometry or length of the acceleration lane that will potentially have a negative impact on ramp traffic merging with the mainline traffic. OR 1c. Behavior Factors. There is a desire to discourage the use of the ramp during the period of road work. |
